Delfast FAQ's
How do I assemble my bike?
To assemble your bike, remove the bicycle and its parts from the shipping package. (Make sure you have removed all the small boxes.) Then, take the wheel and put it on the frame. Tighten the wheel axle nuts. Next, loosen the bolts that are holding the fork, then position and align the fork. Now you have to re-tighten the bolts, being careful not to overdo them.
Next, attach the pedals and install the handlebars, accessories, mirrors, and throttle/grips, and carefully tighten all hardware. To make it easy for you, we’ve made How-to Video Guides that will walk you through the process.
How do I attach my new Saddle or Side Boxes?
We have a few different saddles and side boxes for you to choose from on our accessories page. You can choose a regular bike saddle with a seat post, opt for a universal seat post, or choose a Moto saddle. Our store also has Delfast Premium side boxes and Shad Premium side boxes - both options are great to have when you plan to carry extra things with you during your ride.
How reliable is my bike’s battery?
Your bike comes equipped with a 72V 48ah 3200mAh Li-ion battery with Bluetooth module - which means you can check battery status from your smartphone anytime. Check things like the battery’s capacity and other specifications.
The batteries we use can withstand up to 3,000 charge cycles. In case you’re wondering how much that is… let’s just say that 500 cycles is more than enough for a year and a half of cycling, if you are riding daily.
How do I test my eBike’s battery?
Our eBike batteries have a Bluetooth controller installed, which means you can easily download an app for your Android device and check your battery performance: You’ll need a password to establish a Bluetooth connection between your Android device and your battery -usually, it’s 123456 by default.
You’ll want to be within a range of 4 feet for the Bluetooth to work and you “don’t” want it plugged into the charger. Every parameter in the app should be lit green. If something is red or white, you need to take your battery to the service center.
How long is the life of my bike’s battery?
The Delfast Top 3.0 battery has a lifetime of 3000 charging cycles. One charging cycle means a full charge of the battery to its full capacity . Partial loads can be done more often.
Can the battery self-recharge during use?
Yes it can. It is called regenerative braking and Delfast eBikes are equipped with this innovative technology. The motor generates energy and charges the battery through the brakes.
When you slightly push on one or both of the brake handlebar levers and the bike begins to slow down the motor begins to work as a generator. The battery is then being recharged. Use the handlebar brake levers instead of the pedals when using this technique.
Do I have to remove my bike’s battery to charge it?
No and we actually don’t recommend it. You can charge it when it’s mounted on your eBike.
How do I correctly charge my eBike?
Us only the original charger that was included in the Delfast delivery. Make sure the outside temperature isn’t too hot or cold (over 90F or below 30F), or else you might end up with a battery malfunction. The process takes between 5-6 hours. You’ll know when the battery is fully charged when the charge indicator light turns green.
Are Delfast eBikes equipped with a pedal-assist system?
Yes. The Pedal Assist System (PAS) makes your rides easier. You will assistance when you push the bike pedals. You can select how much motor power you used for this and switch to what feels the most comfortable pedal-assist mode for you - or not use it at all. If you don’t want to pedal, that’s not a problem. You can easily switch to throttle mode and enjoy your ride to the fullest.
